The flight into the Himalayas offers breathtaking views of the major peaks Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Mt. Ganesh (7,422 m), Mt. Purbi Chhyachu (6,637 m), Mt. Langtang (7,227 m), etc. (weather permitting), taking you directly into the Himalayan capital of Kathmandu. After immigration formality on arrival, as you exit the airport terminal you will be greeted and welcome by a Sampurna Adventure personal & transferred to your hotel, Spend the rest of the day at leisure for personal activities following your program briefing or you may familiarize with the narrow lively, and endless streets around Thamel town (Touristic center), where you will find all kinds of good restaurants, ATMs and exchange money, full of typical Nepali handicrafts, fine jewelry, clothing, and trekking gear stores.
Today we visit the most important monuments of the Nepalese capital. We visit Swoyambhunath Stupa with its 2,500-year history. Later visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residence, Kasthamandap, Mahadev & Parvati Temple, Kumari palace sacred for Buddhists and Hindus and old bazaars.
In the afternoon, visit Patan Durbar Square, the old Newar City with the Golden Gate, the Temple of Taleju, Golden Temple and surrounding beautiful monument,
After breakfast, 25 min flight to Pokhara, the second largest city of Nepal located 220 km/827 M. west of the Kathmandu, it is home to Gorkha soldiers. The Annapurna Range with three out of the ten highest mountains in the world — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu are within approximately 15 – 35 miles of the valley. Due to its proximity to the Annapurna Mountain range in the Himalayas, the city is the gateway of famous Mustang trekking, Mount Annapurna Circuit trail and Jomsom – Muktinath,
On arrival at the Pokhara airport, you will meet your guide waiting at the Pokhara domestic airport, then an hour transfer by road with guides & porters to our trek start point. Our walk will follow a ridgeline in the lower foothills of the Annapurna with surrounding views of the Pokhara Valley. This route then drops to the Modi River Valley, where Ker & Downey's Sanctuary Lodge is located. The lodge has magnificent views of the sacred and unclimbed Fishtail Mountain, or Machhapuchhre, as it is locally known. Lunch is at the lodge followed by an optional walk to the village of Birethanti. Or you may choose to spend the afternoon exploring the surrounding river valley (Trek time 3-4 hours).
After breakfast, we leave the lodge walking out through the outlying farms following the Modi River Valley. Soon we begin to climb out of the valley & up towards the mountains. The trail passes through small hamlets, terraced rice fields and forests with spectacular views of the surrounding valley. Snacks are provided along the trail. Hot lunch is served on arrival at the lodge in the early afternoon. (Trek time 5-6 hours). It is from this lodge that there are magnificent close-up views of the surrounding mountains.
We wake up this morning with tea and coffee served in the garden and watch the sunrise over Annapurna South, Annapurna 1, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and the Fishtail. After enjoying a relaxing breakfast and the glorious views from the Himalaya Lodge, our guide will take us on an exploration of this mountain village and the surrounding countryside. Ghandruk was once a major recruitment center for the famous Gorkha soldiers. The women of Ghandruk maintain a local industry of weaving traditional Nepalese rugs.
Trek time to the La Bee Lodge is about 4 hours and much time is spent contouring round and through pretty villages that have remained unchanged for centuries. In the afternoon you can explore the surrounding area which is also situated near to the honey cliffs made famous by the honey hunters. You can witness this collection at certain times of the year.
After breakfast, we leave the Bee Lodge & trek to Ker & Downey's Gurung Lodge. Today’s trek contours the side of the hill, with small ups and downs, passing through villages and farmland. Trek time to the Lodge is about 4 hours. You’ll reach the Gurung Lodge in time for lunch with optional afternoon hikes to the surrounding villages.
This morning we start out trekking through the unspoiled village of Patlekhet, following sub-tropical forests of orchids, rhododendrons and magnolias. Along the way, we will stop at the village of Pothana where many Tibetan traders live and sell their souvenirs. After early lunch we depart along the ridge & descend through the wooded hillside and terraced farmland to the valley floor where we meet our vehicle and transfer to the Hotel/Resort in Pokhara (30 minutes). On the way back to Pokhara, we could stop on request at the Tibetan refugee camp and explore the temple complex. We’ll arrive in the evening at the centrally located Hotel/Resort. The afternoon is free to explore the lakeside where most of Nepal’s Tibetan curio shops are located. Today you could have a choice to enjoy dinner at local restaurants.
After leisurely breakfast, Visit around the city of Pokhara, today we will explore Pokhara city, visit the famous “David fall”, a beautiful waterfall, it marks the point where a stream from Phewa Lake vanishes underground through a narrow gorge into a mysterious hole in the ground, the Gupteswor Shiva Cave, one of the longest caves in Nepal and Tibetan refugee camp, take a boat ride in Phewa Lake and reach the temple of Tal Barahi temple in the island, later in the afternoon transfer to Pokhara airport for flight to Kathmandu, on arrival at Kathmandu you will be transferred to Hotel,
In the evening, a Nepali farewell dinner, we rejoice and express our gratitude to our Sherpa team who accompanied us to make our great trip successful!!
Breakfast, In the morning free for personal activities, we can explore the narrow lively and endless streets of Thamel town where we will find all kinds of good restaurants, full of typical Nepali handicraft, fine jewelry, clothing and trekking gear store, later at the arranged time, transfer to the airport for final departure.
