Highlights

Overview

This classic, spectacular, and exciting “Round Annapurna trekking” experience of a lifetime provides the opportunity to explore an enchanted enclosure in the heart of one of the world’s most beautiful mountain ranges. During the trekking, you will see scenery of both the northern and southern Himalaya, which leads you through thick fir and rhododendron forests to the harsh, thin atmosphere of the Tibetan plateau. On the way, you will encounter various ethnic groups, such as Hindus on lowland and Buddhists on highland, which are as varied as the landscape. From the dizzying heights of the Thorong Pass (5416m) lies a line of snowy ridges, while below lies the sub-tropical KALI GANDAKI GORGE, a busy pilgrimage and trade route with Tibet controlled by the Thakali and Mustang tribes. Part of the range forms the natural amphitheater known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, ringed by the giants of Annapurna, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna, and Fishtail Peak of Machhapuchhre.
The trail leads you through prosperous Gorkha village, rice fields, and rhododendron forests and over passes with magnificent views with scattered yet picturesque villages of Tibetan origin, ethnic Thakali, and Gurung village of Pisang, Manang, Thorong La, Muktinath, and Jomsom.
In the beginning, visit some historic and cultural places such as Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, and Boudhanath with sacred monasteries. You will drive to Besi Sahar to commence your trek to the Annapurna region.
