Overview

Manaslu trekking is considered one of the toughest treks in Nepal, where the places and the population have kept their purity. The sensational mesmerizing trekking in Manaslu takes you through a relatively off-the-beaten remote path to the beautiful landscapes, geographically and culturally fascinating, fierce white-water river falls, dense forests, and Mount Manaslu (8,156 m/26,758 ft), the world's eighth highest peak.

The trail leads you through prosperous Gorkha village, rice fields, rhododendron forests, and the most magnificent and dramatic Himalayan passes, such as Larkya La 5135 Mt., one of the longest passes in the Himalayas. We will come across small jewels produced by the ancient Tibetan and Nepalese cultures; at Bihi, the entrance is decorated with a large stone arch and an immense mani at the opposite end of the village; scattered yet picturesque villages influenced by Tibetan ethnic Thakali; Gurung village of Jagat; the unforgettable Gompa of Sama Gaun, with frescoed wooden ceilings and images of Padmasambhava in terracotta and bronze; Dharmasala; and Bimthang, the active trade routes of the regions known as Nupri.

From its highest point, Larkya La 5135 Mt., we can admire the corollary of mountains, unique for their grandeur and beauty, consisting of Manaslu (8,156 m), Himlung Himal (7,126 m), Cheo Himal (6,820 m), Gyaji Kung (7,030 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m), and in the distance, Dhaulagiri (8,164 m).
