Overview

Annapurna Base Camp Trekking offers an experience of a lifetime with spectacular and wonderful views and takes you to the southern Annapurna base camp. The trail leads you through prosperous Gorkha village, crossing over magnificent passes, rice fields, and rhododendron forest views with scattered yet picturesque villages of Tibetan origin, ethnic Thakali, and Gurung villages of Landruk, Chhomrong, Doban, ABC, Tadapani, and Ghorepani.
From the top of Poon Hill, you will have all the ranges of the Annapurna Sanctuary, ringed by the giants of Annapurna, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna, and Fishtail Peak of Machhapuchhre.
At the end, visit historic and cultural places such as Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan and Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath temple, and Boudhanath with sacred monasteries. This is the first step in organizing to see the massive Annapurna Himalayan range for you, your family, and friends.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu, 1,325 m (4,347 ft)

The flight into the Himalayas offers breathtaking views of the major peaks Mt. Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Mt. Ganesh (7,422 m), Mt. Purbi Chhyachu (6,637 m), Mt. Langtang (7,227 m), etc. (weather permitting), taking you directly into the Himalayan capital of Kathmandu. After immigration formality on arrival, as you exit the airport terminal you will be greeted and welcome by a Sampurna Adventure personal & transferred to your hotel, Spend the rest of the day at leisure for personal activities following your program briefing or you may familiarize with the narrow lively, and endless streets around Thamel town (Touristic center), where you will find all kinds of good restaurants, ATMs and exchange money, full of typical Nepali handicrafts, fine jewelry, clothing, and trekking gear stores. 

Day 2 : Drive to Pokhara

Drive to Pokhara, west of the Kathmandu passing by the picturesque small villages, Trisuli and Marshyangdi rivers (Optional Rafting at Trisuli River). 

Pokhara is a beautiful valley set on the banks of the Phewa Lake, known for its panoramic views of the

Annapurna Range with three out of the ten highest mountains in the world — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manaslu are within approximately 15 – 35 miles of the valley. 

Due to its proximity to the Annapurna Mountain range in the Himalayas, the city is the gateway to famous Mustang trekking, Mount Annapurna Circuit trail, and Jomsom – Muktinath,

In the afternoon take a boat ride in Phewa Lake and reach the temple of Tal Barahi temple in the island, later simply walk around the main tourist hub near Fewa Lake side, 

Day 3 : Trekking: Pokhara – Ghandruk

Breakfast, transfer to Naya pul. From here we start ascending uphill towards Ghandruk. The route is pleasant and we continue our trail near river and we pass through the beautiful small villages with majestic views of the green forest, the Kimche waterfall, majestic Annapurna South Mountain range, Gangapurna, Annapurna II, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, Manaslu and other mountains. Arrive in Ghandruk, in the afternoon we can enjoy visiting the village and museum of the Gurung ethnic group. 

Day 4 : Trekking: Ghandruk to Sinuwa

High on the opposite side of the river, you can explore the village of Ghandruk. From this point, the trial descends along terraced slopes & forest down to the river. After crossing the river at New Bridge, the trail ascends steeply 500m to join with the trial from Ghandruk. From here it is a short walk to Chhomrong (1960m). Chhomrong is a village which offers spectacular views of Annapurna South & Machhapuchhre, later continue an hour trail to Sinuwa. 

Day 5 : Trekking: Sinuwa – Deurali

We pass through a bamboo forest which is damp and cold. We then walk uphill on a trail which is sometimes steep.  It is only after reaching Himalaya Hotel that the forest opens up and we are out in the sun again with astounding views of the glacial river below. It is a steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave. From here our trail descends to a river before ascending to Deurali. From here, we can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding hills and Mt. Dhaulagiri. We notice that the vegetation has become sparse allowing magical views of the valley, the river below and cliffs adorned with waterfalls. 

Day 6 : Trekking: Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)

After walking for 3 to 4 hours, we enter the Annapurna circuit Sanctuary, a huge amphitheater enclosed by a solid wall of snow-capped peaks which include Annapurna I, Annapurna III and the impressive fish tail spire of Machhapuchhre. Finally, we reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp, a grassy moraine platform) from here another hiking for 2 hours takes us to Annapurna base camp, as we reach Annapurna South Base Camp, witness awesome picturesque landscapes, majestic panoramic view of snow-capped mountainous peaks and varied Himalayan cultural settings tucked beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna massive. 

Day 7 : Trekking: Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) – Bamboo Lodge (2.310 M) / 5 – 6 Hrs,

Early morning sunrise view from Annapurna base camp, have great breakfast and trail directly leads you downhill to Deurali, Doban and arrive in Bamboo Lodge, 

Day 8 : Trekking: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring),

After morning breakfast in Bamboo/Dovan, trail leads you to Sinuwa with Small tea/coffee or cold drinks breaks in Sinuwa, the trail directly goes to Chhomrong Khola, cross Chhomrong Khola and trail directly goes uphill to Chhomrong village with the set of stone steps and will reach finally to Jhinu Danda, after room assignment one who would like to take rest in Hot Spring, we trek further 15 minutes downhill up to stream where we can relax and rest, later back to lodge 30 minutes climb, 

Day 9 : Trekking: Jhinu Danda – Pokhara

We leave Jhinu Danda and enjoy the beautiful hill landscape of western Nepal on our way to Naya Pul. We have lunch on the way. Our Annapurna Sanctuary treks ends here and we take our vehicle to Pokhara, rest of the afternoon for personal activities or rest, 

Day 10 : Flight: Pokhara – Kathmandu, Visit: Swoyambhunath, Kathmandu, and Patan


Breakfast, transfer to Pokhara airport and we take an exciting half hour flight to Kathmandu, viewing the Annapurna ranges, on arrival at Kathmandu you will be transferred to Hotel,

Today, we visit Swoyambhunath Stupa with its 2,500-year history. Later visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residence, Kasthamandap, Mahadev & Parvati Temple, Kumari palace sacred for Buddhists and Hindus and old bazaars. 

In the afternoon, visit Patan Durbar Square, the old Newar City with the Golden Gate, the Temple of Taleju, Golden Temple and surrounding beautiful monument,

In the evening, a Nepali farewell dinner, we rejoice and express our gratitude to our Sherpa team who accompanied us to make our great trip successful!! 

Day 11 : Final departure: Kathmandu to the city of origin

Breakfast, In the morning free for personal activities, we can explore the narrow lively and endless streets of Thamel town where we will find all kinds of good restaurants, full of typical Nepali handicraft, fine jewelry, clothing and trekking gear store, later at the arranged time, transfer to the airport for final departure.
